There was once a time that Andre Drummond was considered a premier center in the NBA. Yes, THAT Andre Drummond, the big man that is seeing limited minutes on the Los Angeles Lakers, even with Anthony Davis ailing with an injury. How did Drummond get to this point?
For starters, the NBA has evolved, and more teams are searching for centers that can space the floor. More centers are being asked to shoot threes and create offense for others, and Drummond has never been much of a facilitator in his career.

That being said, there is still room for Drummond to have success in today’s league. There will be teams who want to improve their rebounding and add a strong rim roller to their offense.
There have been reports that the Lakers are interested in retaining Drummond this offseason, likely for the right price. Drummond is an impending free agent and it remains to be seen what his market looks like after the season he’s had.
