Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

The Minnesota Timberwolves have some big names but have been unable to put it together. They are in position to gain another top pick in the NBA draft to land another strong prospect. Edwards is looking like the Rookie of the Year while Towns continues to be one of the top big men in the league. The front office has plenty of options because of the talent they have in place.

Minnesota could decide to keep up with what they have or make some big moves. This is not one of those moves but it will move Culver for some other aspects. He has not taken the next step in Minnesota and they could be interested in moving him. Doumbouya is another prospect that could use a change of scenery. He remains to be a question mark in Detroit and could benefit from being moved.

Minnesota would also get a second-round pick. This could be used in another deal moving forward or kept in their back pocket. The Timberwolves have made the postseason just one time since drafting Towns with the first-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Culver might have played his last games in Minnesota after a short tenure. If this is the case, there should be some interest considering his upside and age. The Timberwolves will have some deals to choose from moving forward.
