The Jazz are a lot like the Rockets have been over the years but better defensively

Utah’s whole game plan this season has been to play great defense and knock down three-point shots and while their defense has been shaky to start the playoffs, the Jazz looked much better in Game 2 than they did in Game 1 in terms of knocking down three-point shots.

Adding Donovan Mitchell back into the mix definitely helped them in this area, but the Jazz shot 19-39 from three-point range in Game 2, which gave them a +33 point differential compared to the Grizzlies’ three-point shooting.

During the regular season, Utah made an average of 16.7 threes per game and they shot 38.9% from distance as a team, which is why it is critical that they have similar performances moving forward shooting-wise that they did in Game 2.

The Jazz are vulnerable when they are missing their shots from deep, but when they are making them, they can score in a hurry, much like we saw in Wednesday night’s game. They scored 141 points and in the playoffs, it is going to be very tough for any team to lose when they score over 120 points!

Mich like the Rockets over the years during the James Harden era, the Jazz sprint down the court and look to get a high percentage three-point shot, but they are better defensively than the Rockets were, which is why they have a chance to be special should they be able to win this series and advance.
