Russell Westbrook records yet another triple-double

Who knows whether or not this game will actually count as a postseason game, especially since last year’s “play-in game” between the Blazers and Grizzlies did not count towards postseason stats, but nonetheless, Russell Westbrook will record another triple-double.

If these stats do count for total career playoff stats, then this will be Westbrook’s 11th career playoff triple-double, tying Jason Kidd for the third most postseason triple-doubles in NBA history.

This season has been quite remarkable for Russ, especially since he just passed Oscar Robertson for the Most All-Time Triple-Doubles in NBA History, but he has publicly said that he is doing everything he can to ensure that his team has the best chance to win. Getting triple-doubles and breaking records is great, but he truly wants his team to succeed, which is why he is primed to have a big game against the Celtics.

Boston has done a good job in their three games against Washington this year containing Westbrook and not letting him record a triple-double, but he has been putting up video-game-like numbers recently and it is hard to see them being able to stop him this time around.

In his last 10 games, Russell Westbrook is averaging 25.2 points, 13.6 rebounds, 15.6 assists, 1.6 steals and is shooting roughly 45.5% from the floor in about 39.8 minutes per game. He has recorded a triple-double in 24 of his last 29 games and has been one of the most dominant players in the entire league since the All-Star break.

Westbrook and the Wizards are on a mission and it is hard to see anybody being able to slow down either Bradley Beal or Russell Westbrook right now given how locked in they are.
