New York Knicks

Start spreading the news, the New York Knicks are back! They have not been to the playoffs since the 2012-13 season, but New York clinched the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Led by Julius Randle and his breakout season, the Knicks not only have a rising star in the league, but they have a terrific blend of veteran/youthful talent. Not to mention, the Knicks are arguably the best defensive team in the league and have been since the start of the season.

The job the Knicks front-office and the entire coaching staff has done with this team is quite remarkable and now, since they are finally proving that they can win games, plenty of star-level players will start to consider a possible move to the Knicks.

New York could definitely be an attractive destination for Kyle Lowry not only because he could be the leader of this team, but because they can virtually pay him anything he would want. The Knicks are set to have an estimated $59.5M in cap space entering the offseason, setting them up with a world of possibilities in terms of players they could potentially go after.

With Derrick Rose and Elfrid Payton both being in the final year of their contracts and the Knicks needing a point guard, going after Kyle Lowry seems like a “fit made in heaven” because of how well Lowry would fit in the Knicks’ system.

Kyle Lowry has always been known to be a great two-way guard and given how much focus the Knicks put on the defensive-side of the ball Lowry could join them and instantly become one of their best two-way players. New York needs another high-level talent to pair with R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle, so why not go after one of the better veteran, prove talents available in Kyle Lowry?
