Los Angeles Clippers
One of the teams that showed interest in Lonzo Ball ahead of the NBA trade deadline was the Los Angeles Clippers, but they were able to strike a deal for Rajon Rondo instead. Now, the Clippers infd themselves on the verge of what they hope will be a deep postseason run, but if they fail yet again, big changes to this roster could be on the horizon.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will likely not be going anywhere, from a Clippers’ front-office point of view, but everybody else on this roster is expendable, especially if Los Angeles was to pursue a young point guard like Lonzo Ball.
For years now, the point guard position has been a big weakness of the Los Angeles Clippers and while Patrick Beverley is still a solid defender, he is going to be turning 33-years-old soon and will be in the final year of his contract next season.

Parting ways with Beverley and some others for Lonzo Ball could make a lot of sense for the Clippers for several reasons, but the biggest being because they just need to surround their two superstars with more high-level talent. Marcus Morris Sr, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson and Nicolas Batum are all really solid players, but none of them are really high-level talents.
They are nothing more than veteran role players at this point in their respective careers, but Lonzo Ball is just entering the best years of his career. Not to mention, bringing him back to Los Angeles but not for the Lakers would be a huge PR move for the Clippers to make that would draw a ton of attention.
Winning games is at the forefront of this front-office’s agenda and if the Clippers continue to fail in the postseason, making a move like going after Lonzo Ball will have to be done.
