Chicago Bulls

At this year’s NBA trade deadline, the Chicago Bulls were one of the most active teams, as they added Nikola Vucevic, Daniel Theis, Troy Brown Jr. and veteran Al-Faroq Aminu. Pairing the All-Star center Vucevic with their All-Star guard in Zach LaVine was a big statement move by this front-office and whether or not they make the play-in tournament this year, they will look to be aggressive with adding more talent to this roster.

Zach LaVine is this team’s primary ball-handler when he is on the court and Coby White is a young, aspiring guard that the Bulls absolutely love given his upside, but this team really does need to address their point guard position in the offseason.

They cannot rely on Zach LaVine to make every play up and down the court and Coby White has developed into a really nice off-the-ball guard, which is why pursuing Lonzo Ball would be a great move for the Bulls.

The biggest reason going after Lonzo Ball makes sense for the Bulls is because of everything he can do to positively impact the game. He is a terrific decision-maker/passer and Ball is averaging a career-high 41.1% field goal percentage this season, proving that he is more than capable of being a “go-to” scoring option.

Perhaps the best trait of Ball’s game that he has made improvements in is his ability to play off-the-ball. With other guards like Eric Bledsoe and Nickeil Alexander-Walker in New Orleans, Lonzo Ball has played a lot of time at the “2-guard” position this year, which could work out well in the Bulls’ favor.

They would not have to worry about certain players bringing the ball up the court because Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine and Coby White are all more than capable of playing with or without the ball in their hands. This fit makes too much sense for the Bulls not to pursue Lonzo Ball, which is why they are definitely a team to watch in the offseason.
