We have become accustomed to Westbrook’s greatness that we are not impressed anymore
When you think of Russell Westbrook, the first thing that comes to mind is his ability to rack up triple-doubles like they are nothing. Not only does Westbrook lead the league in triple-doubles again this season by a wide margin, but Russ now finds himself just 6 triple-doubles shy of tying the great Oscar Robertson for the Most Triple-Doubles in NBA History!
Only two players have averaged a triple-double over the course of a season: Oscar Robertson in 1961-62 and Russell Westbrook, who has done so three times! Not to mention, Russell Westbrook is averaging 21.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 11.0 assists this season, which would be his fourth season of his career averaging a triple-double!
We always seem to take greatness for granted and that seems to be the case here with Russell Westbrook. Him recording a triple-double is not a surprise anymore, just like seeing Stephen Curry make 10+ three-pointers in a game or LeBron James scoring 30+ points in a game at the age of 36 is not surprising to us anymore!
