Norman Powell – Portland Trail Blazers*
*Pending Player Option for 2021-22 Season
All season long, Norman Powell has been putting together some fantastic performances, but he just does not seem to get the credit he deserves. The Toronto Raptors decided to trade Powell at the deadline this year since he is expected to opt out of his player option for next season and pursue a long-term contract, but he was having a career year with Toronto.
Prior to being traded to the Trail Blazers, Norman Powell was averaging 19.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals and shooting 43.9% from three-point range with the Raptors. He has been having a breakout season and with him continuing to be an impactful player in Portland, it is expected that a team could offer Powell $20M+ per year in free agency.

Whether or not the Mavericks are willing to pay Powell this much money for a long-term deal is to be determined, but he could definitely have an impact because of his two-way play. Not only can Norman Powell be a big factor offensively with the ball in his hands, but he is a really underrated defender as well.
Given his athleticism and the fact that he is reaching the peak of his career, Norman Powell is definitely a guy that a bunch of teams are going to be targeting this offseason. If the Mavericks want him, they are going to have to pay him what he wants, but Powell could definitely help turn this team into a true championship contender.
