New York Knicks

New York basketball is finally back and we are not talking about the Brooklyn Nets for once! That’s right, the New York Knicks are back and they are a dangerous team this season. Entering the season, many believe this was going to be yet another “Knicks basketball” year and they would finish near the bottom of the standings, but New York is one of the best teams in the league because of how good they are defensively.

They are giving up the least amount of points to their opponents on average and with the 3rd ranked overall defense in the league, the New York Knicks are a team nobody is going to want any part of in the postseason.

This team almost looks like a defensive team from the 80’s that fights for 48-minutes a game and plays “street basketball” with their opponents. They are not getting in fights every night like the “Bad Boy Pistons,” but they are a scrappy, tough and gritty team that wears teams down every single game.

Not only has this team as a whole exceeded expectations, but everybody a part of this organization was talked down on at some point and plays with a “chip on their shoulder.” Tom Thibodeau had been fired from a couple of head coaching gigs before landing in New York, some of their young talents were talked down on when they were drafted and breakout star Julius Randle was thought to be nothing more than a role player when he left Los Angeles.

Now, Randle is not only an All-Star, but one of the hottest players in the league right now and has the Knicks on the cusp of snapping their 7-season postseason drought. New York basketball is back and the Knicks are definitely a team that is more than capable of making some big noise in the postseason.
