Does this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?
Devin Vassell has been having a really solid rookie season to this point, averaging 5.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 steals and shooting 40.8% from three-point range in about 16.7 minutes per game.
Given the nature of his two-way play on the wing, Devin Vassell could definitely develop into a key player for the Spurs on the wing, which is why making this trade does not make much sense.
Keldon Johnson is having a breakout season for the Spurs and Lonnie Walker IV is a key player for them on the wing as well, but there will be opportunities for Vassell to get more time on the court moving forward.
Not to mention, the Spurs do not really need Mo Bamba as much as it may appear. Jakob Poeltl is more than capable of holding his own, as he has proven that this season and backup center Drew Eubanks has been playing better and better since LaMarcus Aldridge departed San Antonio.

Both Poeltl and Eubanks signed three-year deals with the Spurs last offseason, so this organization is in no dire need of a center immediately, which is why giving up Devin Vassell for Mo Bamba does not make much sense.
