No. 2. Oklahoma City Thunder
While they have a bunch of high-level, young talents in their backcourt and even though they just drafted Theo Maledon to be their point guard this past draft, getting Cade Cunningham would be huge for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Not only is he a young player they can build around, but Cunningham paired up with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the backcourt would be lethal.
Gilgeous-Alexander, in the games he has played in this season, has emerged as a potential All-Star candidate for next season and with Cunningham by his side, the Oklahoma City Thunder would be able to say that they have one of the most talented backcourt duos in the league.
With 19 first-round picks through 2027, the OKC Thunder have a chance to really build something special and starting with drafting Cade Cunningham would be an A+ move for them. Who knows what the Thunder have planned over the next several years and who they are going to target, but with a young core of Cunningham, SGA, Dort, Bazley, Maledon, Pokusevski and Brown, they would suddenly become maybe the most attractive destination for NBA stars to want to play for.

This Thunder organization has so much potential and upside moving forward and if they are to draft a young superstar in Cade Cunningham, they will not only be putting themselves in a great position to succeed, but Cade Cunningham would be in a great position to succeed individually.
This is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s team, but Cunningham could easily quickly become the main ball-handler for this team. Not to mention, his play style matches up perfectly with that of SGA’s, which could form the start of an all-time great backcourt duo. Again, this is all speculation and it is way too early to say what kind of player Cunningham will be in the NBA, but he has a chance to be very special and next to another young and special guard like Gilgeous-Alexander, Cade Cunningham could be set up for a ton of success in his career.
