Ranking top 3 landing spots for Cade Cunningham in 2021 NBA Draft

While the NBA Draft is three months away, it is never too early to start talking about some of the top prospects in this year’s draft class, especially the potential #1 overall pick in Cade Cunningham. The freshman guard out of Oklahoma State is presumably going to be this year’s first overall pick, but depending on who is picking first definitely depends on where Cunningham will be drafted.

Regardless of who is picking first or where Cade Cunningham is projected to go in the draft, let’s talk a little bit about why the young guard is so highly coveted and why he has a chance to make a huge difference in this league as a rookie.

The 6’8″ guard is as dynamic as they come offensively and the main reason why he is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is because of his ability to be a three-level scorer.

Whether it is driving to the rim and rising up over smaller defenders, pulling up from the mid-range or pulling up from three-point range, Cade Cunningham has the ability to score in many different ways and is an elite-level offensive player.

He may not be the quickest or most explosive player in the 2021 NBA Draft class, but because of his length, size and scoring ability, it is hard for any team to pass up the chance to land him in this draft.

Out of the teams with the best chances to land the #1 overall pick this season, all of them could definitely look to upgrade their backcourt depth, specifically at the point guard position, which is why Cade Cunningham is expected to be this year’s first overall selection of the 2021 NBA Draft.

With that said, let’s take a look at the top three landing spots for Cade Cunningham in the 2021 NBA Draft and the three teams he could wind up having the most success as their starting point guard.
