This Celtics-Rockets offseason trade is focused on John Wall to Boston

While the NBA trade deadline has since expired and rosters are seemingly set for the remainder of the 2021 season, you better believe this upcoming offseason will be just as entertaining as the NBA trade deadline was. Two teams that could be key in the mix include the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.

It has been a severely underachieving season for the Boston Celtics. As the Brooklyn Nets formed a genuine super-team after acquiring James Harden via trade, the always righteous Celtics opted to not make a move for one of the best players in the NBA, for whatever reason. With the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks each vastly superior teams, Boston is now far behind in the Eastern Conference.

The Houston Rockets, however, are currently competing for a great opportunity at winning the NBA Draft Lottery. That’s just about all that can be done for a team that had to move on from a superstar like Harden. Furthering their rebuilding efforts could consist of trading away a veteran player like John Wall.

A trade between these two teams could catch a lot of people off guard, but we’ve seen many great trades go down in the league’s history between a great team and a sub-par squad. A deal between these two teams could help each side build for the future, while also investing in their current roster as well.

Rockets guard John Wall was mentioned as a possible trade option in NBA trade rumors around the mid-season deadline, but Houston wasn’t able to find a potential suitor. Moving a player with such a large contract is nearly impossible during the middle of the season, but the Celtics could be a potential option in the offseason.

Let’s take a look at what a NBA offseason trade scenario that features the Houston Rockets ending former All-Star guard John Wall to the Boston Celtics.
