New York Knicks

The Knicks have been looking to make big moves for years now, but they may finally be able to do so in the offseason. After being bottom feeders in the league for years, the New York Knicks have finally turned things around and look like a team that could make some noise in the Eastern Conference playoff picture this season.

Currently, the Knicks find themselves 25-26 and tied for the 7-seed with the Boston Celtics in the East. Not only are they one of the best defensive teams in the league, but the Knicks defense has helped elevate them to playoff contention for the first time since 2013.

Led by first time All-Star Julius Randle and second-year standout R.J. Barrett, the Knicks not only have a bunch of high-level young talents, but they will have plenty of cap space to be able to pull off some pretty major moves in the offseason. Whether it be through NBA free agency or via a trade, New York is going to be bringing in an All-Star level talent, the only question is who will they look to target?

They have Mitchell Robinson as a young, dynamic center, but getting Andre Drummond could definitely make a huge impact for this organization. Not to mention, the Knicks were one of the teams who had expressed interest in Drummond when the Cavaliers were first originally shopping him before buying him out of his contract.

With the ability to sign two max-contract players in the offseason, expect to see the Knicks be big “buyers” in the offseason and look to build what could potentially be a contending team in the Eastern Conference for years to come.
