This Grizzlies-Pistons offseason trade is focused on Jerami Grant

Why This Trade Would Benefit The Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies missed out on the postseason by a game in the bubble. This showed that they are going in the right direction but not there yet. This season, the same aspect is coming out. The Grizzlies are a competitive team but have not taken that next step just yet. They have a nice foundation, with Morant leading the way, and now it is time to find that partner.

Grant is a valuable player in this league. Just as the Denver Nuggets. He is extremely productive on both ends of the floor and that is obvious whenever he steps on the floor. Grant can fill it up from three-point range or create his own shot in the mid-range.

When it comes to defense, he has great length and can guard all five positions. The duo of Ja Morant and Jerami Grant would be one that can get it done in many ways. He would be a welcomed addition in Memphis in the offseason. This means they would have time to prepare and workout the new scheme before the next season begins.

The Grizzlies have the star power with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr., now they need to put the right players around them. Grant is that name and it would show right away given he has shown to be able to handle a greater offensive responsibility while still being a highly cohesive complement.

Playing with the Grizzlies would be a cleaner fit for Jerami Grant because he wouldn’t have to be the clear-cut No. 1 option in the offense. He’d still be a prominent scoring option, but would have a dynamic point guard in Ja Morant that can break down a defense and create quality looks for teammates to play off of.
