Go out and sign some veteran, experienced backcourt players in free agency
If Dennis Schroder is to sign elsewhere in free agency, the Lakers will definitely have to try and find ways to replicate his production, but they can do so by looking to sign some key role players that are a lot less expensive long-term.
Patty Mills, Lou Williams, Derrick Rose, Wayne Ellington and J.J. Redick are all experienced players that are set to become free agents this upcoming offseason and all could be potential targets for the Lakers if Schroder is to leave. Not only would all five of these players have an impact with the Lakers, but without Schroder on the roster, the Lakers could potentially sign 2-3 of these players should they be willing to take less money to contend for a championship.
The fact of the matter is that the Lakers will have plenty of cheaper options in free agency that they could potentially target to try and replace the production Schroder leaves behind. While he is a high-level offensive talent, Dennis Schroder is a very replaceable player and is not the difference in the Lakers winning or losing in the NBA Finals.

Sure, he definitely gives them a much better chance to win, but the Lakers have already proven that all they need to win a championship is a healthy LeBron James and Anthony Davis. All they need is reliable, experienced talents around them that they can depend on to knock down big shots.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell are all under contract for next season, assuming Harrell opts into his player option, so they will already have some key, championship-caliber role players that they could depend on for an uptick in production should Schroder depart.
The Lakers would probably love to keep Dennis Schroder, but do not expect to see the Lakers overpay Schroder or give him more than what he is already making to stay in Los Angeles. They have plenty of other affordable options that could join this team and combine to put up just as much production as Dennis Schroder has this season.
