Just Roll with LeBron James!
While he has been classified as a small-forward over the course of his career, LeBron James has always been a point guard and floor general for whatever team he has been on. Not only is he one of the top facilitators in the league today, but LeBron James is one of the best passers in NBA history.
Last season, without Dennis Schroder, LeBron James was basically this team’s point guard and with him having the ball in his hands almost every possession this year, he still kind of acts as their point guard even though Schroder is considered the team’s starting “point guard.”
Losing Schroder would not be terrible, as it gives the Lakers an opportunity to pursue other high-level players to put next to LeBron James and Anthony Towns in pursuit of more championships.

Whether it be another guard or a high-level frontcourt option, not having Dennis Schroder gives Los Angeles a chance to potentially move some contracts around and bring in a max-contract, All-Star player to form a formidable trio.
LeBron James has always been the Lakers “point guard” and is continuing his role of being this team’s main facilitator this year, when he is healthy, which is why losing Schroder would not be too detrimental of a loss. They won a championship with James in this role last year and with or without Schroder, they will once again be in contention for a championship.
