Philadelphia 76ers
76ers Receive: G George Hill, F Ignas Brazdeikis
Kyle Lowry was obviously the 76ers first choice in trade targets, but they got their second-best option in George Hill. Not only is he a really solid defender that will fit their system in Philly perfectly, but Hill is a guy that can knock down big shots from the perimeter and make the 76ers bench even better than it already is.
Tony Bradley has stepped up in the starting rotation with Joel Embiid being sidelined with a knee injury and Terrance Ferguson was acquired in the offseason by the 76ers, but neither player really played a role in the 76ers big championship picture.
Dwight Howard has served as the primary back-up center behind Embiid and with Matisse Thybulle and Danny Green on the wing, there is not much of a need for a young player like Ferguson. While he could definitely be in the future plans of the 76ers, Ferguson contributed nothing to Philadelphia’s chances of winning a title this season, whereas George Hill can play a big role in that.

Over the years, Hill has played with LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo on two teams that had championship aspirations, and now he will join Joel Embiid and the rest of the Sixers in pursuit of a championship.
For the 76ers, it was essential that they made a move at the NBA trade deadline this season in order to fortify their overall depth, especially with the Brooklyn Nets adding James Harden in the middle of the season. While getting Kyle Lowry would have been a big addition, getting George Hill is just as good in terms of adding another reliable, experienced guard with playoff experience.
At a low price, they got a really good deal for George Hill and he should prove to be a key piece to their rotations throughout the remainder of the regular season and their potential deep playoff run.
