Why This Is A Good Trade For New York

This is a good trade for the New York Knicks because it gives them a much needed wing presence alongside RJ Barrett. The Knicks are one of the most surprising teams in the NBA right now and adding a solid player in Norman Powell would only help their odds of contending for a title.

Powell is having a breakout season for the Raptors this season, and the Knicks could be the recipients of his big season. This season, Powell is averaging 19.5 points per game, 3.0 total rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game for the Raptors. He is also shooting 49.8 percent from the floor and 43.9 percent from the three-point line.

He would be a major addition to a needy Knicks team, as they really need to make a deadline deal for a top-tier talent. If Powell is dealt to New York, the Knicks could shock some squads in the playoffs this year.

Not only would he be a good addition this season, but the Knicks could re-sign him in the offseason and make him a long-term option. It would be a big win for New York.
