Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
At full strength, there is not much to talk down on about the Indiana Pacers, but who knows if they are going to be at full strength this year. T.J. Warren’s return is still very much up-in-the-air, which makes the Pacers a tough team to project moving forward. With him healthy and playing at a high-level, Indiana is a much different team than they may appear to be, which is why adding more depth may not be a bad idea.
This team has been plagued by injuries over the years and adding two experienced, veteran players to their roster not only gives this Pacers team more overall depth, but two guys that could aid them in their playoff push.
There is still a lot of basketball yet to be played this season, but if the Pacers are to make the playoffs, they will really have to turn things around. Indiana has lost 7 of their last 9 games and if they are to turn things around, they will need to add more production to their roster.

Markieff Morris and Wesley Matthews are not going to join this team and average double-figures every game, but they are more than capable of knocking down shots and are two reliable role players that could help the Pacers.
Keeping Doug McDermott is definitely the best option for the Pacers at this point in the season, but getting two reliable role players and two future second-round picks is pretty good value for a role player in the final year of his contract.
