Why this trade makes sense for the Chicago Bulls
Lauri Markkanen has only played in 18 games this year due to a shoulder injury and while he was out, the Bulls still found ways to win games. Wendell Carter Jr. and Thaddeus Young took over the frontcourt for Chicago and played really well, helping to put them in the playoff conversation to this point in the year.
The Bulls have proven that they can win games without Lauri Markkanen and while having him may present them with a better chance to win games, he is dispensable and holds a ton of value since he is a young, high-level big man.
Getting Terry Rozier would be a terrific move by the Bulls’ front-office because of what him and LaVine could do together. Not only would they be a terrific scoring duo, but pairing Rozier with LaVine gives the Bulls one of the most explosive backcourts in the league.

Not only could they push the pace of any game, but they would gain even more offensive production than they already have. Trading a first-round pick in 2022 definitely could hurt Chicago’s chances of getting more high-level, young talent, but Rozier is only 26-years old and could be their point guard moving forward.
This would be too good of an opportunity to pass up and while Lauri Markkanen has been a great big man for Chicago over the years, they do not necessarily need him to be successful. As a result, solidifying their backcourt moving forward and getting another high-level talent to pair with Zach LaVine makes a ton of sense.
