Why This Trade Would Benefit The Toronto Raptors
The Raptors are not looking like the same team that has been at the top of the East recently. They are currently 11th in the standings but just two games out of a playoff spot. The conference is weak this season and that is a reason why the Raptors could look to make a move at the NBA trade deadline.
Aldridge is a name to keep an eye on. This is because of the lack of depth in the frontcourt for the Raptors. Despite VanVleet’s new contract and the continuing emergence of Pascal Siakam, the Raptors lost some key players and this has caused some problems.
Both Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka left in free agency and Toronto has missed their experience. Aldridge seems like the perfect replacement for the other veterans. He is a leader and off the floor. Aldridge and Lowry would be an intriguing duo running a pick-and-roll and leading the Raptors.

This is a chance to show that the Raptors are not going to just sit on their hands and let the season play out. It is hard to imagine the team being satisfied with their current standing and this move would show just that.
