Boston Celtics Receive: George Hill

OKC Thunder Receive: Romeo Langford, Carsen Edwards, 2022 2nd Round Pick (via CHA)

This would be an ideal trade for both teams involved. The Boston Celtics have been wanting to trade away young players like Carsen Edwards and Romeo Langford, who will not be in a position to make an impact in the team’s rotation for a ready-to-impact veteran in George Hill.

The OKC Thunder are in the process of a rebuild and adding some young talent could help add some depth to their team and save some picks in the future. Seeing if either player can flourish with more opportunity could help to uncover a potential new core piece.

The Thunder should be looking to cut ties with George Hill anyways, as the team is starting to bring in a wave of young talent to the team. Doing what it takes to maximize their chances of landing the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft should be the top priority and trading veteran players certainly helps.

This trade would obviously help both the Celtics and Thunder and we could see these two teams get a deal done this year. Let’s take a look at how this trade would directly benefit each team.
