Why This Trade Would Benefit The Houston Rockets

The James Harden blockbuster trade dominated headlines but the Houston Rockets would make some more news when they acquired Oladipo quickly after. We knew there had to be some sort of plan behind this big move and the Rockets proved that by offering him an extension. Since he has not signed one yet, Oladipo could be the next big move me by the Rockets.

This is the exact benefit. Houston is a rebuilding team and cannot afford to let their star players get away without a return. Oladipo is in the final year of his contract and would willingly leave as a free agent in the offseason.

There have been NBA rumors mentioning that Oladipo wants to end up in Miami but the Rockets could send him wherever they want and not have to worry about it. The front office in Houston already showed that they are not afraid to make the big move and another one could be coming soon.
