Boston Celtics
Outside of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown this year, the Boston Celtics have received very little production and a lot of their problems lie in their frontcourt. They signed Tristan Thompson in the offseason and he has aided them a fair amount in rebounding, but between him, Robert Williams and Daniel Theis, it is like rolling the dice at a craps table and hoping for a seven!
All three guys are solid centers and frontcourt options, but they have been really inconsistent this year, which does not fare well for the Celtics’ chances of competing for a championship this year. Going out and trading for Kristaps Porzingis would do wonders for them, not only because they would have four All-Star caliber players on their roster, but because of the impact he can make on both ends of the court.
The Celtics have a ton of value they could offer up for a player like Kristaps Porzingis and with their documented struggles to this point in the season, they could be gearing up to make a big move at the NBA trade deadline. With 8 total draft picks through 2023, plenty of young talents and a $28.5M trade exception, everything aligns perfectly for the Celtics to make a big move at the NBA trade deadline.

One player that could be included in a Porzingis centered trade between the Celtics and Mavs is Marcus Smart, who would be a solid addition for the Mavericks. He is one of the better two-way guards in the entire league and could compliment Luka Doncic in the backcourt quite nicely. The Mavericks could also receive a few draft picks from the Celtics, giving them the ability to continue surrounding Doncic with tons of talented players.
In terms of receiving future value, the Boston Celtics have a lot to offer up for Kristaps Porzingis, which is why they could target the former All-Star if he becomes available in trade talks.
