Why This Trade Would Benefit The OKC Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder made a run to the postseason behind an NBBA All-Star campaign from Chris Paul. He did not fit into their future plans and was sent to the Phoenix Suns in the offseason. This is a rebuilding team that is interested in getting younger within the roster.
That is something they can do in a deal such as this one. George Hill is not a player that is going to be around long-term and it would benefit the team to send him away before he can leave on his own.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is quickly turning into one of the better young talents in the game. He is elite on both ends and can pass with the best of them. Right now, the Thunder remain focused on adding key draft assets to pull off a proper long-term rebuild and his development will be a huge part of it.

If he were to opt-in, Spencer Dinwiddie would give the Thunder a different type of guard to rely on. The two players would complement each other well on the perimeter and build an intriguing duo. Oklahoma City would also have the option to flip Dinwiddie at next year’s NBA trade deadline, too.
Sam Presti clearly has a plan of what to do with this roster. As he begins to put it into motion, we can start seeing Oklahoma City involved in many deals moving forward.
