Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings
There were NBA trade rumors in the offseason centered around Buddy Hield due to him being reportedly unhappy with the situation in Sacramento. If the relationship between the two sides is not fixed, it would benefit the Kings to send away a disgruntled player for a return.
If the Kings can get rotation ready players along with a first-round pick, then it seems like a win. Hield was moved to the bench year ago in favor of Bogdan Bogdanovic. The main benefit is the long-term salary cap relief Sacramento would receive in a potential trade scenario.
This was after Hield signed a four-year, $94 million extension with the team. He was supposed to be the long-term backcourt partner for De’Aaron Fox but that hasn’t quite panned out. That’s a troubling sign when considering Sacramento overpaid to bring Hield back on top of that.

When Bogdan Bogdanovic signed with the Atlanta Hawks, the Kings went back to Hield. Now, Tyrese Haliburton appears to . Both Harris and Barton are veteran players that could pair well with Fox in the backcourt.
Sacramento is clearly in a rebuilding phase and not going to compete anytime soon. This means adding draft capital wherever they can get it and they would get a first-rounder in this deal.
