Bam Adebayo is having a strong season averaging 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest this season. He is solidifying the notion that he is a star in the league. The Heat are a win-now team and they proved that during the postseason down in the bubble. If they want to get back to that level, Drummond could help.
Andre Drummond is in the final year of his contract with Cleveland. The two sides initially discussed an extension at the time of the trade but nothing has been worked out and it is looking like it will not be. This means that Drummond would be cheap in a trade.
Miami would be able to hold onto players like Herro, Kendrick Nunn, and Duncan Robinson. This is an aspect of the deal that is very attractive. Also, the Heat would have options for the big ma moving forward.
If Miami wants to extend Drummond, they would be able to or he could be viewed as a short-term investment. At 27-years old, Drummond has plenty of good years left and they could be in Miami.
