The Cleveland Cavaliers are beginning to fall behind a bit in the Eastern Conference. The same could be said about the Miami Heat but the difference is, they are a team that is expected to compete. Miami has been linked to some big-name players in NBA trade rumors, both in the offseason and on the trade market, including Andre Drummond.
In this deal, Miami would land a big that would solidify their frontcourt even more. The Heat are 11-16 this season and that is a bit of a surprise through 27 games. After a surprise playoff run last season, the Heat were expected to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
That has not been the case and this could persuade the front office to make a move at the NBA trade deadline. This move could improve any part of the floor. The Heat could use some help from the three-point line or they could give Bam Adebayo a mate downlow.

That player could be Andre Drummond. The big man was sent to Cleveland prior to the shutdown last season. He is still one of the elite rebounders and defenders in the game. Drummond is averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. The Cavaliers have some talent in the backcourt to lean on moving forward in addition to already having his replacement at center.
Collin Sexton and Darius Garland are strong pieces to build around along with Jarrett Allen. Drummond and Kevin Love are veteran names that have been featured in NBA trade rumors because they do not fit into the plan moving forward.
This is where the Heat could come into play with a deal. Let’s take a look at what a deal might look like to land Andre Drummond in Miami.
