Unleash Talen Horton-Tucker
The Los Angeles Lakers had plenty of critics when they selected Talen Horton-Tucker in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Many people thought he was selected because he was a Klutch Sports client, however, he has proven he can help the team when given the chance.
When the Lakers are healthy, THT struggles to get into the rotation consistently. Despite the inconsistent playing time, he has played well when given the chance. While he is not Anthony Davis, no one is, Horton-Tucker can help fill the void.
The former Iowa State product is extremely versatile. He is labeled as a shooting guard, standing 6’4” and 233 pounds, but he can play virtually any spot on the court. His length makes him a terror defensively and on offense, he is capable of running the show. Horton-Tucker also provides a scoring punch as he has eight games in double-figures this season despite averaging only 17 minutes per game.
Getting experience now will also help down the road. Without a real training camp or Summer League this year, young players didn’t have many opportunities to develop. Regular season minutes are as good a time to gain experience as any.
