Why This Trade Would Benefit The Miami Heat
The Miami Heat made a surprise run to the finals last season when it all seemed to click at the right time. It has been quite the opposite over the early parts of this season.
We have seen that teams need to put stars together if they want to succeed long term in this league. This is what the Heat could do if they add Lowry for the upcoming years alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Lowry is playing under a one-year deal that is paying him $30 million this season. He will be a free agent after the season. This means that the Heat would be able to extend Lowry for a much-cheaper price tag for the future. This is a benefit because Kyle Lowry has showed that he can still play the game at a high level.
So far this season, Lowry is averaging 17.4 points and 6.6 assists per game this season while shooting 37.9% from three-point territory. The point guard position is one that the Heat have interest in improving and he could certainly help and complement Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Goran Dragic suffered an injury during the final round last season and was brought back in the offseason. If there is a better option available, the Heat could jump at it.
Miami does not want this start to snowball after a successful postseason run a year ago. They could be aggressive at the deadline in adding any type of big-name player.
