Why the Indiana Pacers could pursue a trade for Terrence Ross

TJ Warren & Caris LeVert Remain Sidelined

TJ Warren suffered a stress fracture in his foot and had surgery in late December to fix the issue. There have been no updates on when the Pacers plan on Warren being able to get back out on the court, but it is expected that he should be ready to return by late-March.

Caris LeVert on the other hand may not suit up at all this season for the Indiana Pacers after a small lump was discovered on his kidney during a physical examination when he got traded there. Being traded to Indiana could end up being the best thing to have ever happened to LeVert because it may have saved his life!

Basketball definitely means the world to a guy like LeVert and he is going to do everything he can to get back to full speed when he is cleared, but health and safety should be the two things on his mind right now as we all wish nothing but the best for Caris LeVert and his recovery.

With both wings out indefinitely for the Pacers moving forward, Doug McDermott has stepped up into a bigger role this year, as has Justin Holiday, but they cannot give Indiana the firepower they need on the wing to contend for a championship. Terrence Ross however is a high-level wing who can provide immediate scoring in any rotation for Indiana.

This season, he is currently averaging 14.1 points per game and is shooting 42% from the floor. The Pacers would not need him to be an elite-level scorer like TJ Warren or Caris LeVert, but he could be an excellent secondary scorer next to Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis.

With limited options on the wing and no timetables set yet for when Warren and LeVert will be back, it would make a lot of sense for the Pacers to go after an established, veteran wing player like Terrence Ross.
