Myles Turner – Indiana Pacers
Not only is Myles Turner one of the top defensive big men in the league, leading the league in blocks during the 2018-19 season, but he has all the makings of being a great offensive player as well. Turner can knock down shots from the perimeter in volume, as he has shot 35.7% from deep over the course of his five years of NBA experience, and is a threat to score in the low-post.
With Westbrook and Beal calling the shots and drawing all of the attention, Myles Turner would be able to do what he does best and pop out for three-point attempts in pick-and-roll situations. Given how good of passers both Beal and Westbrook are, there are no limits to what Turner could achieve in Washington on the offensive end of the court.
Myles Turner is under contract for the next three seasons, with his contract worth over $50M and if the Wizards make this kind of investment, they would be solidifying themselves as going “all-in” with their current roster. The biggest question Wizards’ management needs to answer is whether or not they are willing to give up future draft assets to attempt to contend with Westbrook and Beal at the helm.
Bradley Beal has voiced his frustrations about this season to the media on numerous occasions and on the sideline, you can just see the frustration mounting. If Washington doesn’t make a move to better this team soon, Beal could request a trade, which is why adding Myles Turner could save this franchise.
Is is arguably the best two-way big man in the entire league and with two superstar guards in the backcourt around him, Washington could all of a sudden turn things around and be a really solid team in the Eastern Conference with Myles Turner controlling things in the paint.
