Why This Trade Would Benefit The Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks made some moves in free agency to acquire some veteran players. Rajon Rondo and Danilo Gallinari both came to town and it has not worked out just yet. Nonetheless, the moves showed that the team is not afraid to go make some noise and they will not be sitting on their hands. This could continue at the NBA trade deadline.
Trae Young is looking like an All-Star this season and some others have broke out as well. John Collins is having another solid season while De’Andre Hunter is beginning to come into his own.
Kevin Huerter has been an in-between player for Atlanta thus far. He has been used as a starter in nearly half the games he has appeared in. At this point, Huerter might be most valuable to the team in a deal. If they are able to get some draft capital, it is a win for the team.
Atlanta is still some ways away from competing. There are some moves to be made out there that will speed up the process but the front office just has to figure out the right ones.
