Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are looking to get back to their championship ways. After last year was thrown away due to injuries, the team expected to be right back near the top of the Western Conference.
Klay Thompson’s injury has put a hold on that plan but Steph Curry could still take this Warriors team to where they want to be. Regardless, there is still a need for Golden State to add more reliable help to at least keep the team afloat in the meantime.
It is no mystery that the Warriors won their championships with the use of their three-point ability. They never had the best big man at the center position but they had some all-time shooters in their lineup. Now, they have James Wiseman to develop but could use more shooting.
Outside of Steph Curry, the team struggles from three-point range. Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. are athletic wings who can get to the basket but do not fit into the current game plan for the Warriors. This is where Harrison Barnes and Glenn Robinson III would be much better fits.
The Western Conference is continuing to get better and the Warriors need to keep up. Their plan has been pushed back another year with the injury to Klay Thompson and they could look to rebound at the deadline to turn things around this year.
