Reinforce The Strength Of The Frontcourt

With Montrezl Harrell gone, the Clippers have struggled rebounding and limiting their opponents opportunities in the paint. Los Angeles currently ranks 22nd in the league in total rebounds per game and while Serge Ibaka has been a really solid addition for them, he does not provide them with the same strengths Harrell did.

The passion and fight that Montrezl Harrell played with every night is something that is really hard to replicate and is something that made last year’s Clippers team so successful. This year, they are lacking that toughness and grit in their frontcourt, which is why they could and should look to bolster their depth there before the NBA trade deadline.

P.J. Tucker is a guy that has been involved in trade rumors for months now and is the perfect fit in Los Angeles to complement Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Tucker is one of those guys that gives it his all on the court and is a real presence on the defense-end of the court.

Whether it is on the perimeter or in the paint, the veteran big man has a sense of toughness to him that many players in the league do not have and he never backs down from fighting for position on the court. Not to mention, Tucker is one of the best perimeter threats from the corner in the league.

While he is owed $7.9M this season, the Clippers could move some contracts around to make room for Tucker. This would be a perfect addition for Los Angeles on both ends of the court and provide them with that reinforcement they so desperately need next to Serge Ibaka and Ivica Zubac in the frontcourt.
