8. Jerami Grant Wins Most Improved Player
Everyone knew Jerami Grant was a really solid player with the Nuggets last season, but nobody expected this kind of breakout season for him! After signing with the Pistons in the offseason Grant has emerged as one of the new stars of the NBA.
Not only does he currently rank inside the Top-20 in the league in points per game, but Jerami Grant has scored 20+ points in 16 of his 18 games this season, including three 30+ point games. For the season, the 26-year old forward is averaging 24.3 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and is shooting 38.8% from three-point range.
Moving forward, Grant is now the face of the Detroit Pistons and due to his recent performances, he could very much end up being this year’s Most Improved Player. He is not only on-track to be a first-time All-Star, but very much in the running for the award as well.
Expect to see Jerami Grant’s success continue this season, especially since he is one of the only productive players on the Pistons’ roster.
7. Jaylen Brown Makes His First All-Star Game
Much like Jerami Grant, Jaylen Brown has had a breakout season of his own with the Boston Celtics and is on-track to making his first All-Star appearance of his career.
With Kemba Walker out to begin the season, Jaylen Brown started the season averaging 28 points per game in the month of December and when Jayson Tatum was ruled out after testing positive for COVID-19, this team became Brown’s team.
He has scored in double-figures in every single game this season and has scored 18+ in every single game this season, including two 42 point performances.
Not only has he solidified himself as one of the best two-way players in the NBA, but has emerged as a true star-like talent next to Jayson Tatum, giving the Celtics a great chance to reach the NBA Finals this season.
Jaylen Brown is one of the better wing players in the entire league this year and as a result, he will be an All-Star this year.
