Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
As of now, the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to get younger. They could decide to speed up their rebuilding process by adding a superstar but that is hard to picture at this point.
The team would benefit more from trading their veteran players. That is why JJ Redick has also come up in NBA trade rumors recently. The front office in New Orleans has a plan. That plan is to build around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram for the future. They are two elite players who have already proven themselves in the league.
This is something that will be hard to do without making some trades. This one will give them Patrick Beverley for a short term along with two players who could use a change of scenery.
This deal isn’t as much about the return as it is about New Orleans dumping Eric Bledsoe. It will be interesting to see what they do prior to the NBA trade deadline given their current situation has a franchise.
