Why This Trade Would Benefit The San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs has been one of the best franchises in basketball for over two decades. Gregg Popovich has been the best coach for many years now and it is because of his ability to develop players. That is what he is currently doing with the next generation in San Antonio.

Again, Julius Randle is just 26-years old and is playing the best basketball of his career. The benefit for the Spurs is simple. If Randle plays like this, he will be a welcomed addition along with Murray. San Antonio is a team that is used to having strong big men down low to run their offense through.

Randle has taken his game to the next level on both ends. Ntilikina has run out of chances in New York. The first-round bust has played in just four games this season. He would have a chance to develop under Popovich.

DeMar DeRozan was allegedly unhappy with the situation in San Antonio during the offseason. If this is true, the team should trade him as soon as they find a partner. They will not be re-signing him to it would be beneficial to get a return.
