Why This Trade Would Benefits The Sacramento Kings
If Buddy Hield is truly disgruntled, it would benefit the Sacramento Kings immediately to send him away in a trade. His value is still high and this means that they would be able to get a decent return. If that return is a first-round pick, then so be it.
Draft picks are valuable to a rebuilding team like Sacramento. Andre Igoudala and Kelly Olynyk might not be pieces for the future but they would help the salary dump for the Kings. They are both on short-term deals and will not be around long with the Kings.
They are also options to release or send away in another trade if they feel the need. It is clear that Sacramento wants to build around De’Aaron Fox moving forward. They could send the rebuild in a different direction by getting a pick for Buddy Hield
It’s going to be difficult for Sacramento to rebuild in the Western Conference. They will have to acquire picks and hopefully land a big-name player somewhere down the line.
