Why The Trade Would Benefit The Philadelphia 76ers
This is the best Philadelphia 76ers team that we have seen in quite some time. They have always been considered a good team but have never been taken seriously as championship contenders. That has changed early on this year. It can continue if they make the right deal prior to the NBA trade deadline.
Both Daryl Morey and head coach Doc Rivers said that they are not interested in trading either Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. With the current start to the season, that notion might change. Simmons and Harris have a great value at the moment.
Tobias Harris is playing at a high-level and this will be a chance for the Sixers to dump his salary. As for Simmons, he is off to a cold start on the offensive end. When looking at the return, Haliburton and Hield are players who can benefit the Sixers for years to come.
It might seem like Philadelphia is giving up a lot in this deal, but they are getting back immediate replacements along with first-round draft capital. If Embiid continues to play at the level that he is currently, it is certainly good enough to lead them deep into the postseason.
