3 realistic trade targets for Warriors to get Steph Curry more help

Target No. 1 – George Hill

At 34-years old now, George Hill is nearing the end of his career, but he is still a high-impact, veteran player in this league. Just last year, he led the league in three-point shooting percentage with the Bucks, shooting about 46% from deep.

In a Warriors system that revolves around the three-point shot and getting open shots from deep, George Hill could really thrive and give this Warriors’ team the spark off-the-bench that they need. Hill can absolutely be a security blanket for this team in the second-unit and take a lot of pressure off of Steph to make all the shots.

With the Warriors being a younger team than they have been in recent years, bringing in a veteran player like Hill definitely has a lot of perks. Not only can he be a mentor to some of the younger players on this roster, but he is more than capable of knocking down shots when it matters most.

The only catch to trying to trade for a guy like George Hill is figuring out how to bring in his $19.6M contract. With him being owed $9.1M this season, the Warriors would be tight in terms of freeing up cap space and would likely have to move guys like Kevon Looney and Brad Wanamaker.

This may not be in the best interest of the Warriors, as both of these guys are key contributors off-the-bench this season. If the Warriors decide to target George Hill, it would definitely be tough to trade for him, but realistically they could make this trade happen.

The only question that would remain is if trading for George Hill gives them a better chance to win, especially if they have to give up two key role players in the process. The Warriors have a legit shot to be a playoff team in the Western Conference this year, but they will need to figure out who the best available player on the trade market is and how they could impact their team to have a shot at winning a championship.
