Target No. 2 – Patty Mills

Patty Mills has been with the San Antonio Spurs organization since 2011 and has always been one of their consistent role players off the bench. His veteran leadership and scoring ability is something that is often overlooked and something that the Golden State Warriors could utilize in their efforts to make a deep playoff push this year.

Last season with the Spurs, Patty Mills averaged 11.6 points, 1.8 assists, and shot 43.1% from the floor and 38.2% from three-point range. While he does not bring much to the table on the defensive end of the court, Mills has steadily been a productive offensive weapon over the years and has put together some solid years these last few seasons as he is now 32 years old.

His ability to still contribute at a high level and be an excellent bench option on a championship level team is what makes him a valuable player and a guy the Warriors should absolutely target in trade talks with the Spurs.

So far this year, the veteran guard is shooting 45.7% from three-point range and is one of the better overall bench players in the entire NBA. The Warriors’ bench has been one of the better scoring benches in the league this year, averaging about 38.2 points per game, and they could improve even more with the addition of Patty Mills.

The Warriors have struggled this year when Curry is taking a break and is on the bench, but bringing in a veteran leader like Mills could improve things when Steph is not in the game and take a lot of pressure off the 2x MVP to make all the plays happen.

Patty Mills knows what it takes to win games and brings a lot of playoff experience with him, as he won the 2014 NBA Finals with the San Antonio Spurs. This could prove to be very useful for the Warriors, especially given that they have a lot of young players with little to no playoff experience.
