Utah Jazz Receive: G Zach LaVine

Chicago Bulls Receive: F Bojan Bogdanovic, UTA 2022 1st Round Pick, UTA 2026 1st Round Pick

Over the years, Zach LaVine has been getting better and better as an all-around player and is an All-Star level talent, but because the Bulls have been so bad over the years, LaVine has not received the recognition he deserves. Last season, the 25-year old wing averaged 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and shot 45% from the floor, 38% from three-point range.

So far this season in 14 games, LaVine is averaging 27.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and is shooting 49.8% from the floor, 38.7% from three-point range. He is a three-level scorer who can score from the perimeter all the way to the paint and is a freak athlete who can push the ball in transition.

The Jazz is one of the better defense-to-offense teams in the entire league and is currently one of the better transition teams in the league. With two big-time athletes side-by-side running the court in Donovan Mitchell and Zach LaVine there will not only be a lot of post dunks in Utah but a crazy athletic duo that would be virtually impossible to stop when they get going.

Bojan Bogdanovic is in his 7th season in the NBA and in his second season with the Utah Jazz. Last year, he played in 63 games and averaged 202.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and shot 44.7% from the floor, 41.4% from three-point range.

Over the course of his career, Bogdanovic is averaging 14.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and shooting 39.3% from three-point range. His ability to be a legit perimeter-threat from anywhere on the court makes him a valuable asset and given that he is an older player, he could prove to be useful to a younger team like the Bulls.

The 31-year old forward is beloved by his teammates in Utah and the Jazz would have a hard time trading him away, but it may be for the best as getting the opportunity to trade for a player like Zach LaVine does not come around too often, especially for the Jazz.

With that being said, let’s take a closer look as to why this trade makes sense for both the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls.
