Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves

Entering his sixth season with the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has made two NBA All-Star appearances and made the All-NBA team for the 2017-18 season and was extremely durable up until the back-half of last season when he suffered a wrist injury. After playing in just 35 games last year, Towns entered this season fully healthy until suffering a hard fall against the Utah Jazz in Minnesota’s second game of the season and injuring his wrist again.

Towns missed 7 games with this injury and returned before having to sit out again after testing positive for COVID-19, but given their lack of success over the years with him as the face of their franchise, could he potentially be wanting a new change of scenery? All he knows at the NBA level is losing and after a while, this definitely has to take a toll on him.

Pairing KAT with Giannis would be completely unfair and make for one of the best frontcourt duos in NBA history. Towns can play in the low-post or on the perimeter and he can basically do anything you need him to do on the court. He is getting better and better defensively as a shot-blocker and he is becoming a better overall playmaker with the ball in his hands.

Last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the league in double-doubles and had a double-double in 88.9% of the games he played during the regular season. Karl-Anthony Towns only played in 35 games for the Timberwolves last season due to injuries and the T-Wolves failing to make the NBA Bubble in Orlando, but he had a double-double in 68.6% of his games.

Those numbers on their own are ridiculous, but imagine what these two guys could do together! Combining their numbers together from last year, the Bucks would be impossible to stop in the paint and given the improvements both of these guys have made from the perimeter, they could end up being virtually impossible to stop, period.

At just 25-years old, Karl-Anthony Towns still has at least a decade of dominance left in him and we all know what Giannis Antetokounmpo can do. He could end up joining Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain and Larry Bird as the only three players in NBA history to win 3 consecutive MVP awards and with a generational talent like Towns next to him, the sky would be the limit for the Milwaukee Bucks as they would most definitely win a championship within two years of getting Towns.

Trading for Karl-Anthony Towns would be the best move this organization could make not just to help them win championships now, but set themselves up for championship success for the next decade. Going after Towns and potentially landing him seems too good to be true for the Milwaukee Bucks.
