Phoenix Suns Receive: Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Okogie, 2022 2nd Round Pick
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Deandre Ayton, Dario Saric, Jalen Smith, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2023 1st Round Pick, 2025 1st Round Pick
Karl-Anthony Towns going to the Phoenix Suns to team up with Devin Booker and Chris Paul would make for an extremely interesting situation. This would reunite two teammates from the 38-1 Kentucky Wildcats’ team of 2014-15. Josh Okogie and a second-round pick would also head to Phoenix in the trade.
The Minnesota Timberwolves would get quite a haul in return for Towns. It begins with Deandre Ayton, who has looked like the real deal early on. Ayton isn’t nearly as dynamic as Towns, but he could fill an interior role alongside D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards.
The Timberwolves would also get three first-round picks over the next six years. Dario Saric and Jalen Smith are other depth pieces to continue the rebuild in Minnesota.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this trade centered around Karl-Anthony Towns would help both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns moving forward.
