Kyle Lowry – G – Toronto Raptors

The last 6 seasons, Kyle Lowry has been named an NBA All-Star and he has been the leader for the Raptors on and off the court, but his age is definitely something that needs to be taken into consideration for this franchise moving forward.

It cannot go without mention, Kyle Lowry will be turning 35 years old this season and with Toronto struggling to find success early on in the year, they really need to ask themselves how many more years he can still contribute at a high-level.

Kyle Lowry is in the final year of his contract and is owed $30M this season, which makes things complicated in terms of trading him, but there are a handful of teams around the league who would love to add the veteran guard to their backcourt.

The biggest question that surrounds Kyle Lowry and his future is if the Toronto Raptors are willing to trade him. This organization just won a championship not too long ago with Lowry at the forefront of things, so it may seem like a stretch to think they will be shopping him around to see what they can get for him.

In the back of the minds of the Toronto front-office though, they have to consider that Kyle Lowry is not getting any younger and that trading him could set them up for a lot of success moving forward. After losing Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol in free agency, the Raptors definitely have some holes to fill on their roster and could use some young talent to pair with Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam moving forward.

Teams like the Knicks, 76ers, Bucks, Magic, Heat and the Spurs all have young talent that could be attractive to the Raptors and all of these teams could put together some strong trade packages for Kyle Lowry.

If the Raptors continue to struggle this season up near the NBA trade deadline, they may actually look to trade away Kyle Lowry, thus ending an era in Toronto.
