Zach LaVine
One of the biggest needs for the Toronto Raptors aside from the Center position is another high scoring guard to help carry some of the load so that Kyle Lowry doesn’t have to. If the Raptors traded for Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine, everything would be perfect.
It’s unlikely the Bulls would take back Lowry in a potential trade for LaVine since it would signal the start of a rebuild. Chicago has emphasized its frontcourt in recent seasons with Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. along with, now, Patrick Williams. Fred VanVleet seems the most likely option here.
The development LaVine has achieved as a scorer has been impressive to see. He’s emerged as a legitimate three-point pull-up threat and his explosiveness getting into the lane puts plenty of pressure on a defense, too. These are layers to a half-court offense any offense could use.
If the Raptors pursue a trade for LaVine, he could bring more upside to the table than any other player they could go after. He would fit perfectly with Pascal Siakam’s timeline
