This Clippers-Nets trade would feature Lou Williams to Brooklyn

Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Brooklyn Nets

This Brooklyn Nets team should absolutely be one of the favorites for the NBA title because of all the talent they have on the roster. Kyrie, Durant, LeVert, Harris, Shamet, Allen and Jordan are all guys who could potentially score in double-figures every single night and adding Lou Williams to the mix off the bench makes them even more dangerous offensively.

Not only could he replace Spencer Dinwiddie in the rotations, but Williams could absolutely be the spark off the bench for the Nets, especially if LeVert gets inserted into the starting lineup. Having an established veteran scorer like Lou Williams is extremely valuable for a championship contender and he could be the difference in them winning a title at the end of the season.

This is Williams’ fourth season with the LA Clippers and over the years with them, he has averaged 20 points, 5.3 assists and shot 35.8% from three-point range. Not to mention, he won back-to-back Sixth-Man of the Year Awards in 2018 and 2019 for being the most explosive bench player in the league.

The difference he makes off the bench is really quite extraordinary and while most players alway want to be in the starting lineup, Lou Williams embraces his role of coming off the bench and when he is ready to retire, may go down as the best bench player in NBA history.

Who knows if he will make it to the Hall-of-Fame for his play off the bench, but he would have a legit case to make it there, especially if he was to join the Nets and win a ring. He has never won an NBA championship and at 34-years old now and in the final year of his contract, this could be his last chance to do so.

If Brooklyn can make a trade work with Los Angeles to acquire the veteran guard guard, they need to do everything they can to do so as he is the final piece to their championship puzzle. Lou Williams is an x-factor and coming off the bench in Brooklyn would make the Nets unstoppable on the offensive end of the court.
